About

My name is Bentley Potter, Founder of Lost Pets of The Hudson Valley. Since as far back as I can remember, I have always loved animals; especially Dogs. I dreamed of having a large farm where I would let all homeless dogs run free, enjoy life, and freedom. Back in June of 2012, I was taking a drive through Woodstock, NY, enjoying an early Summer day and saw a flyer for a missing dog. It immediately triggered this idea to use social media to help spread the word about a missing pet. I came to find that nothing like this existed for the Hudson Valley. There was a serious need for an operation like this, one that is completely 100% dedicated to helping reunite lost pets with their families.

Since then, I have brought on several great people to help keep this operation running smoothly. We have a wonderful group of volunteers consisting of: Tiffany Mark, Kim Kraska, Carol Baisley, Anne Cirulli, Patti Vandia, Katie O’Connor, Victoria Colabella, and Dawn Longworth; who have helped make sure that each missing pet case is handled and shared to 73,000+ people within minutes. Countless pets have been found safe and returned home to their respective families; many directly due to a LPOTHV post. We now have a brand-new, state-of-the-art website to help reunite even more pets. I am beyond excited to see this work how I envisioned it and to see so many people have faith in LPOTHV and our mission. We truly have the most passionate and caring volunteers around and for that I am truly thankful. We also couldn’t do this without our wonderful community of supporters who help out complete strangers on a daily basis. Thank you, Hudson Valley!
