Our pets, much like us, are affected by the weather. It is very important to remember that we have to keep our pets warm and dry during the cold and snowy Winter ahead. If you have an outdoor cat, make sure you keep them inside during the intense cold stretches. Make sure that your dog has a sweater of some sort when you take them for a walk or let them outside to do their business. Just like when it is hot, you shouldn’t leave your pet in your car either.
When the snow arrives, try to limit how much time your dog is in the snow for. Dogs lose heat through the pads on their paws and they can get frostbite from being in the cold for even a short period of time. Cats shouldn’t be left outside during a snowstorm, as that can be fatal. A lot of this is commonsense, but it should be shared with those who may not realize this.
There are many dangers to our pets and weather is right up there at the top, so please be extra careful and protective of your pets as the weather turns colder. Feel free to add more tips in the comment section below. Thank you.
