Every Christmas, I hear so many talk about getting someone a puppy for Christmas. It sounds like a great idea until a few months after Christmas has passed and they realize that a puppy takes work and then the pup is either dumped at a shelter or worse, abandoned on the streets. Please make sure that the person receiving the gift actually understands what having a dog entails and the commitment that it takes. Always make sure the whole family is on-board and aware of what it takes to raise a puppy. I really dislike hearing stories of a puppy or a dog being a Christmas gift, and then in the beginning of the new year they are dropped off somewhere. Please do your research and make sure everyone is aware of what it takes to bring a dog into your home. A puppy or older dog can make for a great gift, but only if the person receiving the gift and the whole family are committed to them for life.

Thank you,

Bentley
