I just wanted to give you all a heads-up that there have been some reports of a bogus group called “The Lost Pet Finders”, who will call and try to offer you a plan (which involves you paying them) to help find your pet. They are NOT real and are trying to prey on those who are already suffering from their pet being lost. They scour the Web and look for missing pet posts and then call certain families and try to acquire money from them with the promise they’ll help find their pet(s), but are just stealing their money. PLEASE help spread the word about this and do not fall for their scam. It’s really sad and pathetic that anyone would go around and try to hurt those who are already suffering.

Someone the other day asked me if pet theft was happening in the Hudson Valley. Pet theft is real and it happens all over the world, unfortunately. Since LPOTHV was started back in 2012, there have been multiple reports of pets being stolen and attempted thefts in the Hudson Valley. Always be vigilant and never leave your pets unattended outside, even if you have a fenced-in yard. All it takes is a few seconds, unfortunately. The more people who are aware that this can happen, the better the chance that this will not happen to you.
