After a long and brutal Winter, Spring has finally arrived. And so has the desire to get back outdoors with your pet for some sun and fun. Unfortunately, this is also the time of year that more pets go missing as we start to spend the majority of our time outside. We at ‘Lost Pets of The Hudson Valley’ are here to help you if that awful moment occurs when your pet goes missing. But, we also like to offer preventative measures to help ensure that your pet never goes missing.

There are plenty of great dog parks in the Hudson Valley that offer a safe environment for you and your pet while being outdoors. There are a plethora of hiking spots throughout our area as well. Always keep your dog leashed and make sure that the collar/harness are secure and snug. Many people like to let their dog off the leash thinking they won’t take off, but all it takes is a second for them to take off after another animal or scent. A leashed dog is a safe dog. There are just too many variables in play when your pet is off a leash or wandering around a yard that isn’t fenced-in.

Please keep this in mind when outdoors with your pet this Spring and Summer. It’s a great time of year here in the Hudson Valley and a wonderful time to have fun outside with your pets, just be safe and conscious of this.

Thank you.
