I found this dog this morning (9am) on the corner of Henry and Pine Street, in the middle of trying to find who this dog belonged to by knocking on many doors, 3 other helpful neighbors helped by leashing the dog, calling the dog warden, and offering a sweater and warm house until the dog warden arrives.. as we were ready to walk the dog into the neighbors home to await transport, 3 people (2 female one male) walked around the corner from Pine Street to Henry, the one woman (young with long hair) said the dog belonged to her.. there was a bit of a language barrier but she said she lives on Pine Street and had “gotten the dog for her daughter”.. she took the leash and said thank you and walked off around the corner on Pine Street headed towards Greenkill.
Fast forward to about 3pm, I see posters all over of this dog and spoke to the crossing guard of GW Montessori School and he said they were just put up! I call the number right away and met with the RIGHTFUL owner and she’s distraught.. the people who claimed the dog was theirs turns out it was NOT their dog!! I I went onto Pine Street knocking on doors and asking neighbors.. I haven’t found these people.. so I am turning here to ask if ANYONE sees this dog, please contact the number on the poster! I feel awful.. the dog had no collar.. and I had hesitation about handing over the dog to these people but what could we do? Ugh. Hoping there is a happy ending to this story.
