If you live in the Hudson Valley and have pets, you know the dangers that ticks can present to both yourself and your four-legged family members. With each passing year, it seems that the problem continues to grow, putting all of us at-risk. Many believe that as the colder weather sets-in that ticks are no longer a threat; and that is not true. Ticks aren’t as active this time of year, but they are still very much around and able to cause problems. When taking your dog for a walk, even during the Winter months, always check them for ticks upon returning to your home. If your cat is an outdoor cat, make sure you check them each time they return to your home.
New information has been released that shows ticks are causing more problems than Lyme disease. This puts us and our pets in more danger and requires us to be even more vigilant in protecting our little ones.

Ticks aren’t going anywhere, unfortunately. And they can cause serious health issues and even death. Please continue to be mindful of this, even during the Winter months.
